Prospect Hill Orchards is a family owned and operated fruit farm. It has been in the Clarke family for nearly 200 years! Apple season begins in mid-September. Our 15 acre apple orchard is dedicated to pick your own and includes Bosc pears, Asian pears, Quince and winter squash and pumpkins. Popular apple varieties grown are Gala, McIntosh, Macoun, Empire, Honeycrisp, Red and Golden Delicious, Cortland, Mutsu, Fuji, Braeburn and Granny Smith. All these varieties are available at the Pick Your Own location and at our NYC Greenmarket locations.

Apple Chips
Available only in the fall, our apple chips are made weekly at our own baking facility. They are dried with no preservatives or any other additives until they are crisp. A combination of several apple varieties in one bag results in several flavor experiences for our customers to enjoy.

Apples
We grow a large variety of apples on dwarf trees so that many of the apples are easy to reach for all ages! Our pick your own orchard is only harvested by our pick your own customers. You will find the very best quality fruit!

Apples (HoneyCrisp)
Honeycrisp are a very difficult apple to grow. They ripen very early in our season, and therefore are usually only available the first weekend.

Apples Braeburn
Braeburn are a late season apple with tart flavor. A very hard, crisp apple, it stores very well. Its flavor mellows in storage and actually becomes a bit sweeter, though never a truly sweet apple.

Apples Macintosh
Macintosh apples have been a long time favorite of many people. They have just the right combination of sweet and tart, with thin skin and white, tender flesh. At their peak, Macs are a favorite eating apple and great for applesauce. Mixed with other firmer varieties of apples, they make a delectable pie!

Apples Macoun
Macoun is a favorite apple of many people. It has a distinctive sweet-tart flavor. It is ripe for picking when we open in September and keeps well into early October.

Corn Maze
Our farm has a corn maze which is totally child-oriented. We do not charge a fee to run through it resulting in a broken down maze half way through harvest. Somehow the kids don't mind at all and everyone enjoys running around and making new pathways. We just smile and say "have fun!"

Donut peaches
Mango donut peaches are the ssecond variety to ripen. They are yellow fleshed and have a sweet mango-like flavor.

Jonagold Apples
A cross between heirlooom Jonathan apples and Golden Delicious, Jonagolds are a tasty treat! They are mildly sweet and crisp. They store well when they are refrigerated. An all purpose apple, they eat well and make wonderful applesauce and pies or crisps.

Nectarines
We grow both yellow and white nectarines. If you don't care for the "fuzz" then come get some sweet and juicy nectarines.

Peaches
Peaches come in all colors and shapes in our orchard! In July, we will have early white donut (flat)peaches, round white peaches and early yellow varieties. Mid-season will bring flat, yellow Mango peaches followed by flat,green Limey peaches as well as white and yellow traditional peaches. Peach season will begin in July and last the whole month of August.

Pears
We have Bosc pears available for Pick Your Own. These brown pears are super sweet in September and a special treat for our customers.

Plums
Early plums are Japanese style, round with tart skin and super sweet flesh. We have both Shiro and Methley (Sugar) plums. European plums are oblong in shape and a "dusty" blue, also known as Italian plums.The European plums ripen after the Japanese plums.

Pumpkins
Pumpkins come in all sizes, shapes and colors: Tiny munchkins, small pie pumpkins, medium and large round or tall ones. They don't have to be orange either, maybe you'll choose a blue, tan or white one!

Quince
We have a few quince trees which ripen about the beginning of October. They have been so much in demand that last year we planted more tree! Of course, it takes a few years for them to come into production.

Winter Squash
We grow several kinds of winter squash including old stand by's like Acorn, Butternut and Hubbard and new popular varieties including Delicata, Sweet Dumpling, Buttercup and Kuboka types.
